Data Privacy
This page explains what personal information Living Concept Lusaka collects through this website, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
In short: you choose what you share. We use it to answer you and follow up on your enquiry. We don’t sell it, and the website has no advertising cookies or third-party analytics.
1. Who we are
Living Concept Lusaka is a furniture and home décor showroom at Rhodes Park, Addis Ababa Drive, Lusaka, Zambia. We are responsible for the information described on this page. You can reach us by call or WhatsApp on +260 971 809 890.
2. What we collect and when
We collect information only when you use a feature that needs it. These are the ways that can happen on this website.
- When you message us on WhatsApp from the site. Before your first message, the site may ask for your name and WhatsApp number. Both are optional, and you can skip straight to WhatsApp. When you tap a WhatsApp button, we record the tap, the page or product you were looking at, and a short reference code that is added to your message, together with your name and number if you gave them. The conversation itself then takes place on WhatsApp.
- When you save items. Saved items stay on your device. After you have saved a couple of items, we may ask for your WhatsApp number so we can let you know if they go on sale or run low. If you give it, we store it with the item you saved most recently and the number of items you have saved.
- When you use the Visit List. The list itself stays on your device. When you tap “Book an In-Store Visit”, we record that tap and the product. If you send your list to us on WhatsApp, we record the items and the estimated total.
- When you tap “Get Directions”. We record the tap. We don’t ask for or receive your location.
- When you request our trade catalogue. We collect your name, company name and work email, and your TPIN (a business tax number) if you choose to give it.
- When you post a review. We collect the name you enter, your rating and your comment. Approved reviews are shown publicly on the product page.
- Anonymous usage counts. We count how often each product is viewed and saved so we know what is popular. These counts don’t identify you. The records we create when you tap a WhatsApp or visit button also include a random ID stored in your browser, which isn’t linked to your identity unless you have given us your name or number.
Like any website, our hosting and database providers can see technical details such as your IP address and browser type when your device connects. We don’t use these details to identify you.
3. What we don’t collect
The website doesn’t ask for bank or card details, PINs, personal ID numbers or your precise location. It doesn’t use advertising cookies or third-party analytics.
Please keep PINs and card details out of messages and forms. We will never ask you for them.
4. How we use your information
- To reply to your enquiries and arrange viewings, purchases and delivery.
- To follow up on things you asked about, such as saved items or a trade catalogue request.
- To show approved reviews on product pages.
- To understand which products, pages and enquiries lead to visits and sales, so we can improve the website and our service.
We don’t sell your information. If you don’t want follow-up messages from us, tell us and we’ll stop.
5. Who we share it with
Your information is handled by our staff and by a few services that help us run the website:
- Supabase hosts our database and files and powers live features on the site. Its servers may be outside Zambia.
- WhatsApp (Meta) carries your messages once you contact us. WhatsApp’s own terms and privacy policy apply to those messages.
- Google serves our fonts, which means it can see your IP address, and opens Google Maps if you tap for directions.
- jsDelivr is a content delivery network that delivers a code library the website depends on.
We don’t sell or rent your information to anyone. We may disclose it if the law requires us to.
6. Information stored on your device
The website doesn’t use advertising cookies. It uses your browser’s local storage to remember what you did on the site: your saved items, your Visit List, your name and number if you entered them, a random visitor ID, which categories you looked at (so we can show them first on the home page), and that you have seen our welcome screen. You can remove all of it at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings.
7. How long we keep it
We keep enquiry records for as long as they’re useful for following up with you and for our business records. We delete or anonymise them when we no longer need them, or when you ask us to (see Your rights and choices).
8. Keeping it safe
Our records are held with a managed database provider, and our staff reach them through a login-protected dashboard. No online system is completely secure, which is another reason to keep sensitive details out of messages and forms.
9. Your rights and choices
Giving us your details is your choice: you can browse the website and message us without entering your name or number. Zambia’s Data Protection Act, 2021 also gives you rights over your personal data, including the right to ask whether we hold information about you, to have it corrected and to have it deleted.
To use these rights, call or message us on WhatsApp at +260 971 809 890, or visit the showroom, and tell us the name or number you gave us so we can find your record. If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, you can also contact the Data Protection Commissioner.
10. Children
The website is not aimed at children. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian before you send us your details.
11. Changes to this page
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
